So, by seeing the title, you must have understood what this article is going to be about. But why is there a need to make this list? Look, everyone recommends good phones—whether it’s the best phone under Rs 20,000, Rs 30,000, or Rs 40,000. I do it too. But making a dedicated article about which phones you should completely avoid in 2025 is a risky task.
Why? Because knowingly or unknowingly, we get into trouble with many brands in this process. But as they say, if there is any risk, there is love—so this article is being written with your trust in mind. Make sure to show a good response to it.
In this entire article, I will tell you about many smartphones that you should avoid in 2025 and also suggest better alternatives. So, without wasting any time, let’s start.
1. Redmi 10 Series – Not Worth It
This isn’t just one smartphone—it’s an entire series. The Redmi 10 Series has been packed with numerous MediaTek chipsets, but this is not the first brand to do so. The Vivo 90 Series also features mediocre processors like the QMS 773. However, when a phone is completely built with a weak processor, it should at least excel in one area.
For example, Realme 360 may have a plastic build and some compromises, but its performance is strong. Similarly, the Redmi Note 4 delivers decent camera quality, making it a reasonable choice.
If you want a well-balanced phone, Realme 3 is a much better option, offering good performance and camera quality despite having a plastic build. Another great alternative is the Vivo V3. Because of these better choices, you can confidently skip the Redmi Note 4 Pro 2A.
2. OnePlus 8 – An Outdated Option
The OnePlus 8 is a smartphone that I liked overall. The in-hand feel is good, and the display is decent. But when we talk about the camera, it’s just average. The performance is also very mediocre, and the phone is only getting 2-3 years of OS updates.
So, the question arises—why would anyone buy this phone when much better options like the Vivo 90 Pro or Realme GT 6 are already available? If you’re looking for a balanced device with a good UI, I will tell you about a Motorola smartphone in the next section.
3. Motorola’s Flagship – A Risky Purchase
You might not be ready to hear this, but keep your hand on your heart and understand why I am saying this—Motorola’s flagship models are not the best purchase options.
Yes, they have a good camera, solid performance, and strong battery life. But what’s the problem? They are often supremely overpriced, and brands only make small upgrades while charging a premium.
For example, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE was getting discounts of Rs 10,000 during sales. If you’re planning to buy it, I suggest waiting a little longer. The Galaxy S24 FE might arrive with a great discount, and at that time, the S23 FE will also get an even bigger price drop.
4. Samsung Galaxy S23 FE – Overpriced and Overhyped
The S23 FE is extremely overpriced. The so-called upgrades are minimal, and you don’t need to spend that much money. If you have a high budget, it’s your choice, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I know. If a family member asked me, I would tell them the same—it’s better to wait or look at other options.
If you’re looking for good value, you should consider other models instead of the S23 FE. But of course, it’s up to you if you want to listen or not.

I have tagged all the good smartphones I recommend here. Personally, I find options like Vivo 90 Pro, Vivo V4 Series, and even slightly older phones like Vivo 90 Ultra to be much better choices. The Vivo V3 Ultra 96, OnePlus Nord 4, and Realme GT 6 also offer strong performance at a fair price.
So, I have covered all the smartphones I felt were overhyped, outdated, or simply don’t make sense in 2025. If you found this helpful, don’t forget to like and share this article. See you in the next one!
